Hi there,
Here's my second weekly weigh-in:
Weight: 74 Kgs
BMI: 32
So, there is still no movement. There was a small dip to 73.5 kgs mid week and then it bounced back to 74 after a couple of days of Xmas cheer! Oh well. Hopefully next week, it will be a little better.
Cheers,
M

Update 1: Meena M
Hi Everyone,
A big shout out to Priya and Pooja. Welcome on board, guys! I loved reading your posts and can't wait to see where this journey takes us.
What a beautiful week this has been. Fun filled days with family, friends and neighbours. But this also meant struggling to keep food portions under control. But I did find a very handy tool that helps with tracking food intake, calorie count, weight, and exercise - all in one iPhone app. It is called "Daily Burn" and has become my food diary, weight tracker and goal setter. I use the Free version and have found it good enough so far. Check it out here and see if it helps you as well.
For my goal of losing 25 kgs in one year, I'll have to stick to a calorie limit of 1200 to 1500, which is not too difficult since I mostly eat vegetarian food. My biggest problem so far has been to a dedicate some time to working out. I'm hoping I'll be able to get down to it starting next week. Fingers crossed. :)
That's from me. I'll drop in tomorrow for my weekly weigh-in.
Cheers,
Meena

Introduction
Hi all,
I've always had the attitude of 'I don't care' for anything related to outward appearance, my shape etc. I've been wanting to lose weight for sometime now - mostly due to health rather than looks (although I do get frustrated when I cant fit into something I like). And now motivation for weight loss has to do with health as well as fitting into clothes I'd love to buy. I found out that I eat a lot when I'm depressed or under stress (with 2 kids and a demanding job, stress is like a permanent guest in my body) and hence I go munch munch munch. I've gained 3 Kgs in 2 months and my overall weight loss goal is 12Kgs. Hopefully, with 2 friends to accompany me on this journey and to give me a slap on my wrist anything I reach for something unhealthy, I may reach my short term goal of losing 6 kg by September 2011.

Intro: Pooja S
Hey Friends,
This is Pooja, a 35 yr.old homemaker and a mother of two kids. I had been too happily engrossed in bringing up my daughter and then after dedicating full two yrs. to my little one I thought it's high time i looked after myself. I have nicely piled on calories on my midriff and hope desperately to get rid off that extra fat.
Though i have started with my morning walks 5 days a week i still think that's not enough and should watch what i eat too. With the help of my dear co-authors i wish to make my dream come true and will be delighted if i could be of any help to others.
And Meena am your first well-wisher and cheerleader i suppose :)). You CAN do it girl !!
Hope to keep posting something interesting everytime. In the next i will post my weight and all.
And the best part is a fitness expert is joining us soon..yayy !!

Experts, Authors, Weekly Weigh In and Disney
Hi Everyone,
Exciting news! We might be getting a fitness expert to write a monthly article for us starting early next year. Woohoo! We'll have things sorted out once the holiday season is done and we'll all recovered from the party planning/attending. So stay tuned.
As blog newbies, we are having some teething trouble with setting up the multi-author blog. Give us a few more days and we should be up and running. And you will get to meet the other authors. Yay!
Meanwhile, here's my first weekly weigh-in:
Name: Meena
Weight: 74 Kgs
BMI: 32
Wow, writing the above two lines and posting it for the world to see is quite difficult for me. But, like they say, confronting the problem is the first step dealing with it, so here goes. I'm also hoping (praying!) my future self will be happy to look back and see how far she's come. Fingers crossed.
I'm leaving you with this quote from Walt Disney: "The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing. If you can dream it, you can do it.”

Intro: Meena M
Hi there,
I'm Meena, a 32 year old working mom living in Dubai. After three years of slacking and feeling guilty everytime I eat a chocolate, I've decided to deal with weight loss head on. My goal is to lose upto 25 Kilograms (about 55 pounds) in the next one year. I know! Insane, right? But is it possible? How will I do it? I don't know, but as I find out, so will you through this blog.
In the next couple of posts, you will meet the other co-authors of this blog, who will also be my accountability buddies. We hope to add a miminum of two posts each every week. In addition, we will also plug in our weekly Weigh In indicating our weight, inches and any goals reached.
And on this journey, we will need cheerleaders and well wishers to keep us going. We would love to hear from you. Leave us comments/feedback/suggestions, 'follow' us, subscribe to our email to get our updates.
So, that's the first post! :) And we are off!
